The CBIC announced with a tweet for the Extension of GSTR 9 and GSTR 9C. The tweets says “The due dates for GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C for FY 2017-18 are being extended in a staggered manner for different groups of States to 5th and 7th February 2020.” Here is the updated list of states with the new due dates-

The reason behind the extension once again is well known to everyone. We would still like to inform taxpayers that after the previous extension, the GST portal was almost down on Saturday and Sunday. Taxpayers were thus unable to file their GSTR 9 and 9C to meet the deadline.
