GST Annual Return Extension will simplify forms?

The date of filing of Form GSTR-9 (Annual Return) and Form GSTR-9C (Reconciliation Statement) has been extended by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) for the financial year 2017-18 to December 31,2019 and the financial year 2018-19 to March 31,2020. The Government has also decided to simplify these forms by making various fields of these forms as optional.

Points to keep in mind during GST Audit

We appreciate the efforts of CBIC and GST committee members for simplifying GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C. This extension is not for the taxpayers but for the CBIC to simplify the forms of GST Annual Return. Lets hope Government will do something great to simplify the returns soon.

Everything about Newly launched E- Assessment Scheme

GST Annual Return due date extended 6 times from 30th September 18 to 31st  December 2018, then March 2019, then June 2019, afterwards Aug 2019, later Nov 2019 and now 31st Dec 2019. It’s intriguing to see repeated extensions by CBIC on this. This means that after two and a half years, not even one year of GST reconciliation has happened yet. Is all of this joke? Extension is not the solution. It shows how everything is unplanned.
