ICSI removes more than 4200 CS members on Non-Payment of Membership Fees

The Institute of Company Secretaries India (ICSI) has removed the name of Company secretary members who have not made the payment of ICSI membership fees. The list released by ICSI has about 4218 members, of which 3637 are ACS and 582 are FCS members.

‘ACS’ stands for Associate Company Secretary and ‘FCS’ is abbreviated as Fellow Company Secretary. ICSI membership fee can be remitted ONLINE only using Institute’s website www.icsi.edu through the member login portal entering Username and Password, selecting option Manage Account and then Annual Membership Fee.

For restoring membership, one will have to pay the arrears of the annual membership fee, which has been due for over the years along with an additional entrance fee and restoration fee (plus GST) as follows-

* Fee inclusive of applicable GST@18%.

** Annual ICSI Membership Fees of Rs.1770/- and Certificate of Practice fee of Rs. 1770/- w.e.f. 01-04-2019 for associate members who were admitted on or after 01-04-2019 are valid for initial two years only including the admission year (irrespective of date of obtaining the Certificate of Practice in the year of admission) and the following year. The Annual membership and Certificate of Practice fee will be automatically revised to full thereafter.

The Council may remove from the Register the name of any member of the Institute-

  1. Who is dead; or
  2. From whom a request has been received to that effect; or
  3. Who has not paid the prescribed fee required to be paid by him; or
  4. On his being found disabled under Section 8 of the Act or who for any reason, has ceased to be entitled to have his name borne on the Register of Members.
  5. On passing of an Order for removal of the name under Section 21 of the Company Secretaries Act, 1980.
